Spirituality

CSJ spirituality is ...

"A spirit of complete humility ... of complete gentleness ... full of zeal and union with God ... among themselves and with every kind of neighbor." These are the words of Jean-Pierre Medaille, SJ, founded the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1650.

We spiritually bear the name of St. Joseph, having a special love for the hidden virtue of this great saint and being entirely under his protection and care. Father Medaille told the sisters to minister in the manner that Joseph cared for Jesus and Mary.

Our spiritual practices are of two kinds: those pertaining to one's own life and those pertaining to charity toward the neighbor.
