RELIGION HOME STUDY PROGRAM
SPONSORED BY THE SISTERS OF ST. JOSEPH OF WICHITA, KANSAS

The Religion Home Study Program was founded in 1966 by Monsignor Leon A. McNeill of the Wichita Diocese. The program has been known by a variety of names over the years. In May 1985 the Sisters of St. Joseph of Wichita assumed sponsorship.

Our program fills the need for ongoing formation for adults, especially catechists, by offering courses in doctrine, Scripture, liturgy and church history. Courses can be completed by mail or online. Online courses are offered in collaboration with the Wichita Diocesan Office of Religious Education.

People from across the United States and around the world have taken advantage of our courses. Among those who may find mail and online courses convenient are:

  • Catechists, classroom teachers, deacons, members of religious congregations and clergy
  • Adult groups, RCIA students and converts who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Catholic faith
  • Parents with small children who find it difficult to leave home
  • Retired people or people confined to home, hospital, prison or elsewhere
  • Missionaries and military persons overseas
